Description

Wright College offers free adult education classes for Illinois adults. Classes include:

Classes meet for 8 weeks and are generally offered morning and evening. GED students choose between morning, afternoon or evenings classes and 2 classes per work or 4 per week.

Eligibility

  • ​Students must live in Illinois and show proof of residency.
  • Students must be at least 18 years old in order to enroll in adult education classes. However, students 16 or 17 years old may register with an official release letter certifying that they are no longer attending high school (high school release form)
  • Students do NOT need a social security number.
  • Students who hold J1 visas are not permitted to take Adult Education classes.

How to Apply

Students must take a placement test before enrolling in classes. Visit Wilbur Wright College's Adult Education Office to register for classes and make a placement testing appointment. Please bring a State of Illinois ID (state identification or driver's license) with your current address. If the address on your ID is not current, bring a utility bill or other piece of mail showing your current address. ESL students may use a Mexican Consular ID (Matricula).

Though there is not a wait list, if classes are full, students must wait 8 weeks for the next session. Registration remains open until class is filled. Fall 2018 classes begin August 20th.

Office staff speak English, Spanish, Polish, Arabic, and Ukranian. However, classes are taught in English only, with the exception of the Spanish GED classes.
